Need Help...FTP transfer question...

If anyone can help me out alittle here I would greatly appreciate it...I have pulled so much of my hair out over my previous problem...I can't afford to loose any more..LOL

Summery first. I have a PS3 Slim 320GB model, I jailbroke it using the Maximus AVR USB, I installed the Backup Manager v1.1, I installed both FTP server programs, I have have successfully ripped about a dozen games to both the internal hard drive and to a 500GB external (and everything plays great!!), I have downloaded a few PS3 games off the net and successfully installed them on the External hard drive, and last but not least...just minutes ago I finally got my settings correct and FTP'd into my PS3's internal hard drive using FileZilla.

Question: After getting into the internal drive and looking around alittle...I notice that in the "/dev_hdd0/game/" directory that when I click and explore the contents of one of the actual game folders..like "BB0011111"...what I see inside looks absolutely NOTHING like what the contents look like that I ripped to the External drive or like what I have downloaded!?!?!?

So do I have to convert the stuff I have download off the net with some program or just transfer it as is to the internal...like I said they look 100% different...and on the flip side...If I want to pull a game I ripped to the internal drive off to my pc...what will I have to do to it in order to use it on an external!?!
