NEED HELP ASAP!!

ok so last night i made my own custom boot logo and sound and every thing went great. then this morning i decided to make it a bit nicer and followed all the steps to the t, but now when i reboot my system i all i get is black screen and nothing works. i can get into recovery mode, but id rather try to replace the coldboot files with the original. is there anyway to get access to the ps3 hdd if i hook it up to my pc? or anyway to get access to that directory? if not will any of these work while in recovery mode?-restore default settings, restore file system, rebuild database, restore ps3 system or system update.

i really dont want to loose the things on my hdd so if there is any way to backup those files any help would be great!

ok i tried hooking it up to my sd tv and got some picture. so then i hooked it back up to my hdtv and i got a screen asking about the res. i hit ok for 1080p. then the system started to book but it just froze and it not
doing anything. any help would be great.

OK JUST SO U ALL KNOW I GOT IT. I USED THE RECOVERY MODE METHOD AND UPDATED SOFTWARE TO ORGINAL FW 3.55. INSTALLED FINE WITH NO ISSUES. ONCE INSTALLED I NOTICED MY VIDEOS WERE STILL THERE. SONOW IM UPDATING AGAIN IN XMB WITH KMEAW 3.55
