Need clarification about E3 flasher & Progskeet before buying a PS3
Need clarification about E3 flasher & Progskeet before buying a PS3 –
Tomorrow i will buy a (used) Slim PS3.
Also i've seen a lot has been going on lately concerning E3 Flasher & Progskeet.
So before i buy it, i'd like to know if by using one of both i'll be able to downgarade to a CFW 3.55 on an updated PS3 console?
Also is there any requirements the console must have to do this?
Whatever firmware version the unit shipped with will be the lowest you can go. I would suggest finding a PS3 that is already at 3.55. I found an old fat PS3 with backward compatibility at 3.2 on ebay for less than $200.
So it isn't possible to downgrade with Progskeet or E3 flasher? because the console is 3.72 as the seller said
Like I said, it depends on what firmware version the unit originally shipped with. Have you tried looking for a 3.55 unit?
Gotta check up the model number.
Some models from after the price drop 6 weeks ago apparently are unable to be downgraded to 3.55.
Edit: From the E3 site;
most slim console works even include some new slim console which come with 3.56+ original FW. We find 3000X version console can programme correctly but can't downgrade and dual boot, we will do best to work it out and provide to all free.
I will ask him what the model number is, but he said the console was bought one year ago, that should be fine then?
OK then, thanks.
Then i'd like to compare E3 and Progskeet, however i couldn't find any tutorialsto dual boot on PS3 with progskeet and how to solder it, do you know where i can find that information?
I hate to keep bringing this up, but why not just skip the downgrade by finding a 3.55 PS3? They are not terribly rare yet. Are you getting this PS3 cheap or perhaps you just want to do the downgrade just for kick and fun?
Well i can get a Slim 160GB with 7 games for only 150 €, so yes it's cheap and interresting.
Also i like doing this kind of downgrading stuff
