MIA NOOB SEEKS HELP WITH old multiman and fw 3.55 –

Ok, its been a while since i did anything to my ps3. Last game i played from backup was uncharted 3.
Anyways, today i downloaded the new assasins creed ( patched for 3.55), and it just boots me back to main screen. I have a feeling that its because i am either running old firmware or old boot manager. Anyways, my system software version is 3.55 (i guess its custom, but i dont know how to verify)
Then, as a boot manager, i am runing multiman version 1.15 from feb 11 2011?
Anyways, i am lost as to what should i do next. Its been a while and dont have any direction to go. Can anyone assist? For all intensive purposes assume like if i would have just bought a used hacked ps3... Cause i honestly do not remember much.
Thanks in advance

Creat a folder in the games USRDIR folder called ASSASSIN_ISO and leave it empty eg. GAMES/Assassin's Creed III/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/ASSASSIN_ISO

PS3 SuperSlim 120gb Firmware: 4.31 OFW / PS3 Slim 1Tb Firmware: Rebug 4.30.2

Awesome, that did the trick.
May i follow up with 2 more questions?
1-how did that work? Just so i can nderstand for future reference
2-should i upgrade my multiman and fw? I mean, if i can play all the stuff, whats the need/bennefit of upgrading? And if its the way to go.. How do i accomplish it, else.. No worries
Thanks again,

Why not buy the game and support the developer?
