Flash went good checked and confirmed 3.41 firmware.

When File 2 was added to the thumb drive and inserted into the far right usb port it continued to blink for 10 or so minutes.

I powered the console down turned back on and now when i power on it shuts off after a few seconds seconds.

I was scratching my head to figure out why when I realised that both lv2diag.self files were file 1.

So I ended up using lv2diag.self file 1 instead of file 2 due to mislabeled file

    Anyone got some solutions?

Use file 1 w/ the .pup again and do the downgrade instructions. Then put in file 2 and finish the process.

    Thats the problem.

I can't use 3.41 modified pup because im already on 3.41 now.

    I think so at least.

When I retry the process from scratch its the same outcome. It just turns off after a few seconds and doesnt boot to xmb so I cant do anything.

Try a firmware that's less then 3.41 but greater then the version that came with your PS3. Ex: 3.40, 3.20, 3.15

No modified version when you're going from 3.41(3.56) to something lower. You just need the OFW

@phytoplankton: could you say what firmware you were on before the downgrade attempt to 3.41, also, was that the stock firmware, and wondering did the suggestions help you fix your problem?

@chesh: not using a version lower than the stock firmware has been mentioned several times. Could you give the reason? There were several threads (merged into one) that mentioned strange stock 3.50 machines that couldn't be downgraded, while other 3.50 stock could. Luckily, mine could (to 3.41). This seems to be a contradiction. Thanks.

Well, as I never have needed to downgrade, and I'm just basing it on other users in the downgrade thread that I was helping to support, people that had 3.50 on their machines from the factory got semi-bricked when trying to go to a firmware lower then 3.50. The best thought we came up with is that Sony somehow hard-coded what was the lowest version the PS3 could have on it firmware wise. As soon as you reinstalled a firmware equal to or greater then what came on it from the factory, you could use your PS3 again.

@chesh: Thanks, yea, I saw the administrator's explanation of " "syscon" min. value set in the eeprom". I thought some people were applying this in general, not just to the unusual 3.50's, but didn't see an explanation.

@phytoplankton: Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread. I would still be interested if you fixed the problem--it could help some others. I'm sure you're not the first to accidentally use the wrong self. Good luck.
