Looking for Clarification on using mutlipul hdd's. –
First off sorry if this has been mentioned before i did try a search but nothing popped up.
Im currently running 3.41 on a phat 40gb, now with the release of the downgrading method i thought id jump on board and downgrade too 3.15 as i never had the pleasure of playing with Otheros. Now my Ps3 likes to wipe all the data off its hdd everytime i upgrade and or downgrade, tried it a few times tonight and every time was the same. 3.15 wont play my games so i need 3.41 so here is the question..
(If possible) Can i use 2 differant hdd's, one with 3.41 to play all my games and one with 3.15 so i can tinker with Otheros. Is it just a simple case of swapping hdd's back and forth each time i want to do what i need to do. Is that possible. Or is the PS3 stuck on which ever firmware was on the hdd at the time it was switch on.?
If swapping doesnt work and i cant update/downgrade as i loose all my data. Would buying a 3rd small hdd and using it as a go between work? e.g
Take out 3.15 hdd - Put in go between hdd, update too 3.41 - Replace with original 3.41 hdd and have all my data.. visa versa.
Would that work..?
Oh its late and i think iv just confused myself, hope you lot are abit more switched on than i am tonight and can work out what im trying to ask. lol
Thanks in advance..
I'm curious if that works for you. If that is the case you don't need a second PS3 to keep one "unhacked". You could simply swap back to your original HDD and boot up without a dongle.
