Hey everyone, I have a 120 GB Playstation 3 Slim and my Blu-ray drive's logic board is dead. I was browsing the internet looking to buy a new one, so I could swap the 8-pin chip, but I wanted to make sure of something before I go further.
* My Playstation's laser is a KEM-450 AAA.
If I purchase a board that says it is compatible with a KES-400 AAA or KES-450 AAA, does that mean it is "locked" just to those laser models?
- Or will any Playstation 3 Slim logic board be compatible?
(The architecture on these boards look almost identical to mine. The only difference is that my Playstation sports a KEM-450 AAA laser.)
[ Or even though mine is a BMD-051 board that came from my drive with a KEM-450 AAA laser, as long as I purchase a BMD-051 board, does it not matter if the purchased BMD-051 was from a KES series laser? ]
Thanks for your help!
