    Tools needed

    HJSplit - http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/

    Open Manager 1.3
Game with file larger than 4gig on your computer

    Steps

1, Start HJSplit and pick split file which opens up the file split dialogue where you choose your large file as input and choose your destination folder as well. I have left the same folder as destination.

You also need to state the file size 1024 MBYTES Use this size because it is the same size open manager splits large games into when ripping from BD drive. Larger files seem to cause problems hence why COmgenies filesplitter is not used.

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Once the file has been split close out HJSplit.

    2, Renaming the files

In the example picture the game i used was Killzone 2 which has a large file called data_ps3.psarc

When this file is split you end up with 7 new files which have to be renamed from

    data_ps3.psarc.001 >> data_ps3.psarc.66600
    data_ps3.psarc.002 >> data_ps3.psarc.66601
    data_ps3.psarc.003 >> data_ps3.psarc.66602
    data_ps3.psarc.004 >> data_ps3.psarc.66603
    data_ps3.psarc.005 >> data_ps3.psarc.66604
    data_ps3.psarc.006 >> data_ps3.psarc.66605
    data_ps3.psarc.007 >> data_ps3.psarc.66606

    Before picture

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    After picture

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

You can now delete the original data_ps3.psarc file as it is no longer needed.

Copy the entire contents of the game over to your external hdd and rename the folder to _killzone2 or _BCES-00081 or whatever you prefer but put the preceding _ before the folder name. This prevents you from trying to play the game from the external drive.

Now the final bit load up you ps3 with open manager 1.3 running and you will see _Killzone2 at the top of the list just highlight the game and press circle. Wait till transferred and you are done.

I am sure Comgenie will release a newer filesplitter which splits the files into 1024 MBytes and renames to 666XX files.

Depends which game you have tried to do. Also if you have a lot of 001 files it sounds like you have not set the default split size to 1024 Mbytes.

I believe there are tools that do this automatically now (Comgenies awesome filesplitter???)
