Kmeaw CFW Installation issue
Kmeaw CFW Installation issue –
I've been having trouble installing this on my PS3.
I have installed OFW 3.55 - Which gets to 65% and jumps to 100%. The 'added' folders in the Game section have gone. So I guess it worked.
Then I install Kmeaw 3.55 that also gets to 65% and jumps to 100%.
I can install most Homebrew, some of it works, some of it black screens and returns to the XMB.
Is the fact that the update didn't finish completely anything to do with it or is this what the updates do? Are they meant to jump the 35% to the end?
I forgot to remove OpenFTP before returning to OFW. When it reloaded with OFW, OpenFTP was still installed AND RAN PROPERLY! Whereas when it was loaded with Kmeaw, it failed (Black Screen). WTF!?
It means you have HDD corruption or a bad component. I would suggest to do a backup of anything you have on there (backup util in the XMB), take the HDD out and format it via your computer, put it back in and hope for the best. If this doesn't fix your issue, you may need another HDD, or figure out what component has gone bad or if you have a cable not connected fully.
I have a brand new PS3 slim 320gb & the time's iv gone back & forth OFW / Wanin's CFW / Kmeaw's CFW, It always goes to around 50%-60% & then straight to 100% & everything works just fine here.
EDIT: It doesnt jump but it take about 2 minutes to get to 50%-60% & then about 10-15 seconds to climb up to 100%
I'll try a full low level format on the drive. Not worried about anything on it.

Nope. PS3 system must be screwed somewhere. Looks like this one might have to stay legit.
Does the latest version of Gaia or Rogero backup manager install and run?
Rogero 8 and Gaia both run and will sometimes mount. But not always, it will return to XMB without the mounted backup.
When they finally mount it black screens and hangs or returns to XMB without the mounted backup. It's really wierd.
Pop a Disk in it fires up fine.
Ya ever opened your console before, or did you buy it used?
This one was opened once to change the Lens a while back. Been perfect since.
Your bluray cable attached appropriately and fully? Did ya break the clasp? If so, wedge a piece of cardboard or plastic in it and hot glue it down. Try wireless and wired connections. One of those modules could be bad. Most of the time though, getting around 65% is bluray drive error.
