KMEAW CFW 3.55 Currently...Should i update?

So like the title says.....Should i upgrade? I've been away from the scene for a while since they released 3.60 and stopped PSN access. So if someone could fill me in the loop. From what i gathered:

-There is a spoof for 3.70 but it is simply just to stop the PS3 from updating to OFW.
-Currently all games released from 3.60 and on can not be played on a system with 3.55 CFW
-There is no PSN access with a system on CFW
-There is a USB dongle that can be purchased which will allow you to play newer games

If there is anything that's wrong with whatever i just stated please correct me. If i'm just sick of the cat and mouse between updates/CFWs/ and Sony in general should i just give in and update so I can finally play the games I would like to?

if you really want to play newer games as well as PSN then update to 3.70 but first erase all the data that has related to JB or CFW .

Updating is a matter of personal choice. If you want to see what other CFW and MFW have to offer, by all means, give those a shot, and give kmeaw a break... you can always flash back.

Yes, you can find the latest 3.70 spoof at rebug.me, but it does not do much more than prevent your system from accidentally updating. I have heard you can use it to trasfer data between HDDs as well.

And yes, pretty much all games released under the 3.60 SDK are unplayable, but every once in awhile thee will be a fix for a random game or two. Less and less lately though it would seem.

As for the dongle you are talking about, I assume you mean the Cobra USB, and as of now, it is only a rumor that they are working on bringing support for newer games. The new CFW due out soon, JFW DH, might also have some new features that allow you to play newer games. But the case with both of these releases, is that we will have to wait and see.

And as brother Amp stated, if you wish to play the newest games, think about investing a ProgSkeet or E3 flasher, and making your system dual boot CFWv3.55 and OFWv3.70.

Thanks a lot gents, answered all my questions, I have so many back ups that i dont want to lose but im dying to play dead island and MW3 (when it comes out) but I SUPPOSE i can buy it on Xbox 360.

I might go get me a copy of Dead Island too. But if I do, it's on the 360 for sure. Nothing against PS3, but all my friends are on the 360, even though they have PS3s Have to go with the friends!

Dark Souls... getting that on the 360 too, but I might double dip that one The last one was so F***ING EPIC!

IF my jackass friends would just of got the game on 360 it would make the decision so easy...but they're all cheap and don't like to pay for live...EVEN tho everyone it buying GoW3 in like a week................

Well, I have been hearing that Mircosoft needs to drop the price of their xbox 360 to be able to compete with the heat Sony is bringiing in this holiday season. But at the same time, they recently jacked the price of live up. As of right now, Microsoft is not budging, and Sony is just all over the place in everyones' faces. They even pushed back the release of their star wars limited edition console to next year

Well, now I am confuzed. I pre-ordered one at amazon, and they sent me a letter saying it had been delayed. But now I am looking, and I see two. One for Nov. 20th, and one for Dec 31st. The one for Dec 31st looks more official than the other listing.

EDIT: Upon further inspection, the game that comes bundled with the package, does not release until Dec 31st. So it looks like a end of the year release.

Something else you should be filled in on, there's a downgrade method for 3.70 to go back to 3.55.
You have to open up your console and have a possibly expensive device, but it's worth being aware of.

So what you could do is update to 3.70, enjoy PSN & the latest games for a couple weeks knowing you have the option to downgrade if you want to.
They're probably going to release another firmware update which blocks the downgrade so you have until then to decide.

Yeah lol, MS won't budge for a lower price but instead they keep making special edition consoles.
