Kiosk model fat 60GB on OFW?
Kiosk model fat 60GB on OFW? –

I got myself a kiosk model CECHA (first-run 60GB fat) but it's got its own locked-down version of the firmware and a good third of the features are just plain unavailable while the other third are locked until you enter a security code on every boot. I've seen posts about converting a kiosk model to a retail one via a hacked firmware update, but unfortunately I picked up mine after it had been upgraded to 4.00 so I'm SOL there. I know for a fact however that this is a very early model, so it likely shipped with either 1.00 or 1.50 so I could feasibly just run myself back to 3.55 and then convert it from there, and then make the choice to stick with OFW, go the CFW route, or else try some of that multi-boot trickery I've caught hints of.
Either way, I understand that all of this requires using Progskeet and will mean I have to open the system up and break out my soldering iron. I have no problem with this and am confident in my ability to do so, but I first need to know where I go about getting the proper model, as from their website Progskeet appears to be a rather generic hardware programmer, so I don't know if I need a specific type of Progskeet or if I need to use a particular firmware, or really how I would even go about any of that. And once I have it and wire it up, then what?
TL;DR- How do I go about obtaining and using a Progskeet for my PS3?

Go ahead and purchase youself a Crystall Blue edition Progskeet (v1.1, if you care) - it definitely gets job done. Good luck, since soldering progskeet to NAND consoles is kinda difficult task.
