Kiosk firmware question
Kiosk firmware question –
Greetings, I recently saw a tutorial where a user installed a 4.11 kiosk firmware pup to his own console which was on OFW 4.11, he then entered the code to unlock it from demo mode and low and behold he had the Install Package setting.
I'm assuming these kiosk pups are signed
If 4.31 Kiosk pup were to get in our hands, would this method work? The pkgs don't work because they're not signed, but signed ones apparently do. Just searching for an answer.

I've never heard of this. I find it doubtful that kiosk units would have an 'install pkg files' option on them.
I found it on a blog and a few PS3 news sites, except psx-scene which is the one I usually check. I'd post links but I only have 3 posts so far.
You can PM the link or try something like www[dot]example[dot]com.
Alright, here's some dots replaced with [dot]
I hope this can work so that NPDRM algo will be easier to test
Even if the kiosk firmware had the option to install .pkgs, I don't know how you would be able to install Kiosk OFW over Retail OFW without jailbreaking. Going from kiosk to retail requires jailbreaking. Besides, kiosk firmwares don't have PSN access or the ability to buy or install anything online.
