Do you even need recovery mode to install? I heard you can reinstall the same firmware normally with System Update.

Sony can make all the games online based and put serials on it (havent seen a crappy net now a days) and make the ps3 homebrew device ready and bam piracy losses....

You don't need it, but recovery mode is guaranteed if you can't install normally

he has released a 3.41 version too

dont use the 3.55 yet as you wont be able play games as no pkg files are signed for 3.55 yet!

Not everybody has access to online

I don't think a version-specific script is needed. His script just adds the strings to make Install Package Files appear, which is the same on every firmware.
