What is up with people on this forum? How hard is it to just read the bloody thread instead of just jumping in with a question that's been asked and answered a million times already?

Without a lv2 patch (which Kakaroto will not do cos he is against piracy) you will not be able to use backup managers with this CFW.

The question is why - why does a signed app needs a lvl2 patch?

Ok the current backup managers work this way, but i guess the authors has the rewrite their managers for this new playfield and it will work without any memory patch?

Couldn't a signed app send a payload, sure it will be in the RAM, but it's temporary solution until it is implemented into a custom firmware.

yes in jailbreak mode you need syscalls, peek&poke etc... to start unsigned code.
but in retail mode with signed software why would we need to patch anything ?

I believe you need syscalls for mounting purposes

The payload remaps the Blu-Ray to USB or Internal IF a backup manager calls for it.
