this is great news looks like a fully working custom firmware is around the corner keep up the good work.
I quite like that, imagine if homebrew ran fine but no illegal stuff. People didn't really start hacking the PS3 properly until Linux support was removed, if Sony didn't completely freak out about this, maybe homebrew could get officially supported... it would be mutually beneficial.
can i update from 3.5ofw to 3.55 cfw?
um... since the keys were released, any firmware (be it 3.60, 3.70, etc.) can be hacked.
anyways, with the sony keys + tools to decrypt/encrypt/etc out, someone will modify a firmware to run backupsVery possible because the certain SYSCalls (for discs) come from certain files, so someone can filter them out.
i can predict that within 1 or 2 weeks, we will have everythinga tool to sign homebrew + running backups. lolz.
i cannot wait for a signed FTP application... !!

if your'e on 3.50, i would recommend downgrading to 3.41 to get homebrew and backup Managers….with 3.41 being the "best" firmware at the time, and 3.55 beginning with this CFW, there is really no reason to be on 3.50 at all……Splatterhouse, RDR Undead Nightmare, Split/Second are really the only games I know of on 3.50 that are not working….NFS and GT5 do work on 3.41….so you're not really missing much game wise other than a few games that dont work…
