Just a tip while FTP'ing...Turn off all auto-power off settings...kind of funny –
So i was recently backing up a fair amount of games from my internal HD to external thru FTP'ing. And after about 2 hours my transfer kept getting killed and my ps3 would power off.
So of course, i panicked a bit at first cause i recently took apart this ps3 for a good cleaning so i was thinkin I F'd something up. Then I decided to scroll thru my ps3 settings and came across the power settings and realized they were set to auto power off after 2 hours. So i disabled that thinking that was it and continued on my way thinking it was fixed.
Happened again. This time I was really freakin out thinkin damn, i guess i really did F something up. I was FTP'ing using multiman and it got me thinking again, there is a ton of settings in multiman, maybe their is another auto power off setting in their. Yup, their is.
So just a tip for anyone that is doing heavy backing up using FTP. Turn OFF auto power off settings in the PS3 menu and ALSO the multiman menu, that is if your using multiman as your FTP server.
As far as I know, my ps3 has never had an undetected error.
