Just got a 60gb PS3, worried it will break on me, sell it and get slim now?

SO i got my 60gb ps3 today, its old, and my tv is on repair so i cant test it atm, its making some funny noises when i turn it on.

Also i hear the 60gb got alot of problems so i dunno what to do.

Should i just sell it and get a new ps3 slim, before its to late, if i get a slim model now, atleast i know it will be without 3.42, but in a week or so, maybe the ps3 will be in retail with 3.42

Im also thinking long term here, dont know how long this ps3 can stay with me

i dont know, fan noises, its dead quite, but i dont have a TV to test it after playing for several hours, just worried about ylod or whats its called down the line

the fan on the fat is kinda loud. is it ticking at all? or just a loud whirring?

you can pretty much guarantee that 60Gb will take a shit on you!
I had a release 60Gb, beat RFOM within 2 days of it coming out then put my ps3 back in the box and put it in my closet until MW2 came out. Within 3 weeks of playing MW2 I got the YLOD! So I had to go out and get a 120GB slim =(
Either way Sony knew the the 60GB consoles will fry out due to their firmware updates that make the BD drive/laser work harder to try to keep up with the newer reversions of their consoles hence ****ing you out of your $600+ console!
I know when I got my Release console here in NY it cost me $928 that was with 1 game 1 extra controller and tax... And to get less then 1 month use out of it really pissed me off, so if I were you I would dump that 60Gb ASAP!

60GB EU launch PS3 here, been running fine since release. Gets used regular and cleaned regular. No problems whatso ever with it.

My friend has the same model however and his BD drive has now crapped out and won't read any discs.

i hear ya... i have had extensive conversations with my friends about that. i just really want a backwards compatible ps3. i guess just wait to see what gets done with our beloved psgroove.

good point, i dont want 4 months from now be without a working ps3, then get a ps3 which doesnt work with the jailbreak

did u all mean the PS3 Slim is beter then a PS3 60 GB with 4 USB a SD ard reader and Backwards compatibility?
and if the PS3 60 GB becomes a YLOD then Reball your console and it will never become a YLOD anymore!
