I was reading up on the upcoming JFW-DH beta and the article says it can brick your console if you are not an actual beta tester.

The beta test shall undertake not to publish the beta, and have a mechanism that anti leaks, this means that not only would find the informer, but you use it the users activate the safety mechanism to make them shiny bricks (Forewarned is a traitor)
I am really not happy about hearing this. Does this product contain a Root Kit? So what are they going to scan our every move via internet connection like Sony, then once found out you have their firmware they can give us a brick without knowing? If so I really want nothing to do with this custom firmware. They seem very sneaky right now. I cant think of another way they can brick you if you are not even connected to the internet. Maybe they have feature that links your mac address?

I have a good feeling this is going to be a paid for custom firmware. I see in the future everyone trying to reverse this custom firmware. They are doing alot of work on it and seem to have built in anti leaking features so I feel this is going to be a for profit system? I just don't like the fact they have the power to brick consoles. That is ****ed up.

If this is going to a paid for custom firmware it better be at a good price. And even if, I am still weary they have any power over the Playstation I own.

    Any thoughts? Boycotts?

Jailbreakscene is the worse site to read stuff on.

For the real truth see this post: JFW-DH Moves into BETA Tester Stage - Page 2

Besides it only in the BETA release, which noone should have except for a few dozen people, it designed to install on their machines only. -- It not a BRICKing system, just a closed BETA test to remove any remaining bugs, best to have a few dozen people test it and make sure it is perfect before millions go and install it and run into problems.
