right no joy im afraid... BUT
successfully got KOF to update! so with some games im sure this will work.
I actually do a lot of troubleshooting for a living, and it is a time staking process. So if your willing to put in the time, I can tell you what to do.
First off, you need to have a clean look at your variables, so you can control those variables, and see what changes are made.
Step #1:
- Go into your FTP program and write down the file structure, file names and file sizes for every folder on your PS3.
This is your control variable. Whenever you install anything, you know what the system looked like before you installed it.
Step #2:
- Find a game that installs updates without any issues while using BM (Uncharted 2, we know does this)
- Install Uncharted 2 to your PS3 using either BM or FTP
- Run Uncharted and let it install all its data, do not patch the game yet
- Write down the file structure, file names and file sizes for every folder on your PS3.
This gives you the 1st changed variable. The game is installed, what has changed.
Are there new files?
Are there new folders?
Do existing files have a different size?
- Make a list of all the changes you see. This will be needed for later.
Step #3:
- Install the patch for Uncharted 2
- Write down the file structure, file names and file sizes for every folder on your PS3.
This gives you the 2nd changed variable. The patch is installed, what has changed.

Step #4:
- Get an original copy of game that cannot be updated while using BM or the patch files
- Run the original copy and let it install all its data, do not patch the game yet
- Write down the file structure, file names and file sizes for every folder on your PS3.
This gives you the 1st changed variable. The game is installed, what has changed.

Step #6:
Compare the lists of files that are changed from the games.
- Does Uncharted 2 have different files then the other game.
- What files changed sizes
- What folders were added\
At the moment you are taking blind test stabs trying to hit something. If you do the above, you control all of the variables and actually see what is changed and affected by the patching process. With this process you can do strategic strikes to find your resolution.
My Theory:
I actually think that some games do checks for the Blu-Ray with updates. Since BM shows itself as LAUN12345, the update fails.
Try to use the guide to that shows you how to completely change your BM to the same code as the game you are trying to upgrade.
So for instance, if you are trying to upgrade RE5: Collectors Edition to work with the Move Patch, then change BM to match the serial code of RE5: Collectors Edition (BLUS-30287).
Then try the update.
My theory is that PS3 will see BM as RE5: Collectors edition and install all of the patches to the correct folders. Now, since I have no time to test this, and I did none of the above, there is no way to know if my theory is fact. You seem like you have the time to test this theory, so give it a shot.
can you post some update links?
thank very much for that...
guys please use your own pc's
!!!! its easy... just google everything you dont understand!
Posting links for the updates is neither illegal nor against website policy, I don't see the reason why u can't spare us the extra steps.
We are not asking you to upload them or anything , just the link u grabbed from ur proxy server.
illegal? im just tryin to get move working with the games i got today!!!
i knew this would happen..
well the file structure of King Of Fighters seems very intresting as when you load the ISO there is an install for a theme pack and the game.
worth some one with a bit more experience taking a look i think!
can we patch resident evil 5 gold edition to work with ps move?
