I'd like to downgrade and then jailbreak my PS3 and it seems like the E3 Flasher is the best downgrader tool, but then do I also need a jailbreak dongle?

I'm seeing things like "JB King", "True Blue", "Cobra", etc. Do I need any of them? I have a PSP-2000 to act as a trigger if needed.

...but the "Cobra" dongle sounds neat because it lets you play Bluray ISOs which sounds amazing but other than that, do I really need anything besides the E3 Flasher and my PSP?

My main goal is to play backups via the HDD (and the latest games, etc).

Being able to dual-boot back into the stock/retail NAND/NOR so I can get on PSN would also be a huge plus.

Well all of those dongles have pros and cons, so here are the highlights of each one:

Cobra: Lets you play backups of psp and ps2 titles (you need backwards compatibility for the later), but you cannot play the lattest titles, and that takes us to...

True blue: You can play the latest titles, you need the modified eboots which team Paradox provides, anyway itīs all nice and dandy but true blue is the most expensive of the three and that brings...

JB King: Itīs a copy of the True blue dongle and itīs cheaper buuut (and this is a big but *no pun intended*) the True blue team is blocking this dongle with their updates (a la Sony) and are treathening with wipping out the hdd if you use this dongle.

So there you go, if you have the money I recomend True blue or Cobra, both are very good option for jailbreaking, I hope this info helps, cheers.

    Hi,

I'm encountering the same levels of confusion.

I have installed E3 Flasher into my nor console. I now need to get to service mode and do not have a phone / PSP that I can use. So I've been searching all around for a service mode jig. Can "JB King", "True Blue", "Cobra" get you into service mode? If not, how about E3 card reader?

After one enters service mode, do you then downgrade by using any of the above?

    Thanks
    HD
