Jailbroken Trophy Sync Discussion

I dont know how many of you guys are like me, but I love my trophies. I play games that I normally wouldnt of over and over again just to obtain them. I love showing them off, and I like keeping them updated.

Since the Jailbreak news I havent signed on PSN to sync anything. While I synced likely just a day before my last PSN sign on (30 days ago), I've since then earned many-a-trophy I'd like to sync up before I upgrade my HDD size.

I really wish I could just do the 'compare trophies' (thus sync) and not have to update.

Currently, theres no way to do this; right?

What does it look like for the future and being able to do this?

Do you think we will have a "Open Trophy Manager" type app that's sole purpose is using proxies(or whatever means necessary) to be able to let us sync our trophies while still on 3.41?

Can anyone think of methods that might start development on the project?

Use FTP manager to backup your old internal HDD to PC , then use it again to copy it back into your new HDD, you won't lose your trophies this way ...

Yeah, but they still won't be online, which I'm guessing is his main concern here. Unless you've got a 2nd PS3, and you don't mind doing a backup on your JB'd PS3 and then restore on the one that's online, I don't think this is possible (not even sure if what I just stated will backup the trophies too).

Being able to sync trophies from a jailbroken machine would be terrible!

As it stands now, anyone who is jailbroken can just award themselves any trophy (even plat) that they like. Jailbroken syncing would devalue the hard work of those who earned them the right way.

The only way I know that you could even do it is to update, losing your JB, and sync you earned/faked trophies once on 3.50

Don't worry, there will be a way to get on PSN with an exploited PS3. It's only a matter of time. Be patient.

This I assume as well, but I thought perhaps it might be easier to make trophies sync VS full online play.

I totally forgot about the cheating aspect. Although I think Sony would be able to catch on to that if you sync those, since the Platinum generators put random 2010 timestamps on the trophies, you may actually have a platinum timestamp before "level 2" for example. That'd be fishy. Since I care about my trophies, I dont ever plan on cheating them, and my completion times will reflect as such.

I do have access to another PS3 as a matter of fact, although without it jailbroken and the use of FTP app, theres no way I could copy my trophies from console to console. UNLESS I can simply rip the HD from the fat, slap it in my slim, and sync. Would this work? If so, after sync could I remove it, put it back into the fat, earn more, and repeat?

I believe I've seen talk about that before, and if you put a HD from one PS3 into another PS3, it requires a format before use. So, you'd just lose everything in that instance.

Copying the trophy data over FTP then pasting into the new drive doesn't work, tried it myself and they were ignored completely by the PS3.

It worked for me

you cant copy the trophies of the ps3 to the hard drive. Been searching myself because like you i have earned a lot of new trophies since i jailbroken and i want to upgrade my hard drive. Even if you manage to sync via proxy and you change you hard drive, the trophy collection icon wont show them (if you dont play the game again), only the online card...
so for now, only solution is to wait for a custom firmware... i dont care for online play, i just want my trophies
