well, this is kind of a long story... so i bought a broken ps3 a while back it was stock 3.40 with a totally stuffed bd controller board. i bought a new controller board for it, and managed to get it to update to 3.41. so i had a 3.41 60 gig bc unit with an unmarried drive.

reading through various posts/forums, i saw some people claimed downgrading could remarry the new bd board to the motherboard. i got the modded 3.41 from dgf.rar and installed that with psgrade/teensy++2.0 ...didnt remarry. tried some earlier pups, none of which would install. then i stumbled on some leaked files, one of which was a 10 mb 2.43 pup. to my suprise, this one installed, however my ps3 wouldnt boot. i could get it out of service mode with lv2diag.self, but on reboot, the system would beep 5 times and shut down.

i then tried a few pups 3.15, 3.41, 3.41 modded, none would install. always 5 beeps and a shutdown. then i grabbed a 3.41 for broken bluray drives (thanks warren) and to my delight it installed without issue. so now my console is on 3.41 still unmarried bluray i think (still a couple tests to do). but now, on boot without a jailbreak device i have install package files and app home.

anyone else seen this 10 mb 2.43 pup or used the 3.41 pup posted by warren and found install package files and app home?

also, anyone know at what firmware recovery mode was first built? i heard 2.50, but would like confirmation (this will be my next downgrade test)
