Jailbroken my ps3 and installed multiman what next?
kmeaw is old. It was one of the first fully functional CFW. Newer CFW will be more compatible and give you less problems. I would highly suggest what I call mandatory files
Rebug .6 update
bdemu2.pkg (won't show up in the xmb - it's just a system file for multiman)
multiman's emulator pack (if you want to play SNES, GameBoy Advance, NES, Genesis, and FinalBurn(arcade games))
current showtime media player
ReActPSN 2.20 (if you want PSN games)
the rebug stuff you get from Codename: REBUG - you'll install 3.55.2 just like you did for KMEAW then install the .6 update pkg file. That will place an update icon in your xmb. Run that. Next go into install pkg files and look on your internal hard drive for Rebug Selector 1.6.1. Install that, then run it from the xmb. read the on-screen instructions to set for Rebug mode + Debug mode. That installs a version spoofer so you don't accidentally update to official firmware and can't downgrade. Check in your system settings to make sure it says you're on 4.00 - Don't worry, it's just a trick, you're not really on 4.00. If you decide to do this and you get stuck, let me know and I'll walk you through it.
If you are bouncing back to the XMB, something must have went wrong with the install. May I suggest you download the CFW again, instead of patching it yourself. If you go to the first link in my sig, and scroll down to the CFW section, you will find a pre-patched kmeaw PUP for you to install.
that's good advice if you want to stay with kmeaw. good luck
Hi thanks for the quick reply.
I just re downloaded the multiman and installed it. Its working fine now.
May I ask whats the difference between the kmeaw and rebug please? (a quick crash course?)
Also will I be able to play newer games that require higher firmware then the 3.55 if I were to use Kmeaw or the rebug?
There's not much difference between the 2 for the average user just looking to play backups. KMEAW is a very early custom firmware and it's a great place to get started. Rebug will turn your console into a Debug console and give you a ton of new options and things to do with it. I started with KMEAW, went to 3.55 Ultimate then to Rebug. Rebug , to me anyway, is more stable, more compatible, and more advanced than anything out there. KMEAW is a great place to start as your first CFW, but as you learn more and decide you want to do more, you'll eventually decide to go to Rebug or something newer if something else comes out by the time you're ready. You can play 3.56 and under games on any CFW you choose and many 3.60 games that have patches. Anything newer than that and you'll need a TrueBlue dongle.
Thanks BahumatLord for the crash course. I think for now I will use the KMEAW and maybe later I will try Rebug ^^.
Thanks tthousand for your suggestion, I been trying to jailbreak my ps3 for the past 5 or so hours, though I will re download multiman and reinstall it one last time before starting over and than it worked. LOL

You should get bdemu2.pkg - it's an updated version of what you already have. Multiman now supports 2 payloads and this will add the support for you. Most games don't matter, but you will occasionally run across a game that will work with one payload and not the other. I don't have a link, but it's easily found on google. I usually keep mine set for Hermes in multiman's options without a problem
You should get react which will let you play dlc like the broken steel dlc for fallout 3, and for some psn games and psx.
As for the difference its simple, kmeaw = playing games, rebug = bloatware with a million features you do not and will never need, for every 1 rebug user there is at least 3 kmeaw users, it is older but it works fine.
