Hey guys sorry if I'm being a noob but I bought a ps3 and it has 3.01 firmware on it. How would I go about Jailbreaking it? Do I upgrade to 3.55 then jailbreak it? Once I jailbreak it, what should I do next? I'll continue on reading the forums but thought I give it a shot.

Please read though this tutorial and check all pages, as the JB tools change occasionally.
But yes, you would need to upgrade to an official firmware of 3.41 or 3.55 then go from there. Instructions for that should be in that thread.

Lot happened after last june bro..!!!

But as for the basics one thing remains..!!!

You need to update to Official FW version 3.55 to be able to jailbreak..!!!
Never ever update beyond that..!!!

Once you are in OFW 3.55 you can try Rogero CFW 4.30 v2.05 or something like Rebug 4.30..!!!

Those are the best CFW's available to date...!!! Do some googling

Well I upgraded to rogero 4.30... I have multiman installed. How do I load games from my pc to ps3?
