Issue upgrading from multiman 2.00.05 to 4.04.04
Issue upgrading from multiman 2.00.05 to 4.04.04 –
I'm new to this forum and a newbie on doing mod with my PS3. I would just like to tell my dilemma regarding upgrading my multiman 2.00.05 to 4.04.04. I did it last night via internet after it finish downloading i installed it on my console but after it finished it hang on the part where the black face logo. it hanged for about 5 mins when I noticed that the hard drive light is not blinking I turned it off. after turning it back on i tried again but the same issue. I deleted the multiman version 4.04.04 and installed 4.02.00 or something the same but to no avail. it just did the same thing. So to fix it I downloaded 2.00.05 and installed it and it fixes the issue I'm able to play my games again and the restored the multiman interface. Here's the thing I want to verify from you guys.
1. Did I do something wrong?
2. now that I deleted the 2 versions of multiman (4.04.04 and 4.02.00) it now displays corrupted data when i try to delete it again it says error 80010036 and won't delete it. How do I delete it permanently?
3. My firmware version is 3.55. do I need to install any CFW so that I can update to multiman 4.04.04?
My apologies for all this questions. I'm just confused since what I saw and read on the internet was really straight forward direction but it didn't happen on my end.
thanks alot and more power. hear from you soon.
When you have a Corrupted Data icon go into Recovery Menu and select Restore File System and when it reboots you should be able to delete it. Not sure why the latest Multiman isn't working though, did you try deleting 2.00.05 then installing 4.04.04 instead of just upgrading?
you can usually delete corrupted data after fully cutting the power to your PS3. If it still won't delete you'll have to reindex the database in your system recovery menu. Be cautious of doing that though. Normally it fixes it without issue but in rare occurrences it will trigger a forced format of your hard drive. I had done it dozens of times but the last time I tried about 2 months ago it forced a format of my full 1TB drive.
As far as getting multiman installed, make sure you're installing a base or full version and not an update. They're labeled in the file name. If you have another file manager installed like Comgenie's Awesome File Manger you can navigate to dev_hdd0/game and look for BLES80608. That's your multiman folder. If after deleting your old version and you still see that folder delete it
Thanks I'll try it later and let you know.
Thanks for the info I was able to delete those corrupted files.
I was also able to upgrade to the latest multiman version by installing the 3.55 CFW Kmeaw first. after installation I've monitored its stability if it will hang or something (since as per other post here on the forum some people have issues when doing it) No issues so far. I was able to play Yakuza 4 with the new version and it didn't hang and was able to play it for a good 30 minutes. I'll try other games. thanks again.
