Isn't 3.55 Basicly 3.50 with tighter security?

I don't understand why everybody are trying to make custom Firmware out of 3.55 since 3.55 seems to be a 3.50 with fewer security holes. Wouldn't it be easyer to to make a custom out of 3.50 and spoof it to 3.55?. For downgrading isn't just to make a pup out of the 3.50 pup that the PS3 accepts? with all the signing tools this should be quite easy you just sign the 3.50 pup that you spoofed with 3.55 Keys.
I am just thinking out loud but it seems like the shorter way to go I bet that you couold log into PSN with a spoofed 3.50. 3.41 and 3.50 are really different so The PSN server has real easy to recognize 3.41. Howeever 3.55 is rushed because of the recent downgrading so they didn't really put anything new into it beside the security updates, and it's the security updates we don't want,
I am sure 3.55 is modified 3.50 code, if sony could modify it why shouldn't our dear hackers be able to? Somebody who is used to this should take a look at the lines of code and se what is different and change everything that isn't security related, then name the 3.50 code 3.55 and try to upgrade.
I am not a coder but it seems 3.55 is just a patched 3.50, since PSN worked after Geohots patch it should still work with a miner change to the 3.50 code....

PSN + doesn't leave the 3.55 users out.

That's what I said. That they should be able spoof the 3.50 for PSN by now with all the keys, they should also be able to change the 3.50 pup so it gets accepted by the 3.55 firmware for an upgrade. So the 3.55 user wouldn't be left out. From what I heard so is the 3.55 very similar to 3.50, made with the same SDK etc. They should spoof the 3.50 pup to 3.55 or just change the Version number the way Sony does when they make a new pup. Then signing it the same way with the same key the 3.55 is signed with should do the job. Sony never knows beforehand what changes they are going to do so a correctly signed 3.50 could be the new 3.60. It,s only the version number that alouds you to upgrade or downgrade because they never know how the firmware will look like, they could add features or take them away, so a sligtly changed 3.50 could be named 3.60 and in that firmware it's again added to downgrade to what ever you like, even a custom 3.55 made from 3.50 code....

Damn that's actually a really good point regarding PSN on 3.50 (or even 3.41!). But obviously no one has figured out how to do it yet.

I really like this idea, it sounds plausible

I think EVERY firmware is the last one with tighter security and patches, but I see your point in it being rushed and all that, so it has less of a difference from 3.50 than, say, 3.50 from 3.41.
