Installing game to HDD –
Some of my backups that I currently have on the Internal HDD have an option when loading the game to install the game to the HDD. Is there any point in doing this when it's already technically on the HDD to begin with? Or is it just a waste of space?
are you talking about installing it to an external hdd?The only time I copy backup games from internal to external is when I needed space to play another backup game that can only be played internal and after I copy then I delete the original from internal so you wont have duplicate.

i see what u mean.. will not all games do this bur nearly 76% of gamed do install game data on ps3 hdd coz some games contain dlc in that data and all you have to do is buy unlocker from psn store ( only ofw) and use those dlc for examble nfs most wantes has an update 1.3 gb when u download it u will see new cars but u cant drive them unless you activate the unlocker which is roghly a 100kb in size another example is saint row 4 it requires you to install data so you only download the unlocker so u can use dlc immediately instead of downloading 1.6 gb u understand right ?
Publishers need to be shot for this... If its on the Disc, when I bought it, it should be MINE! END OF LIST!

that's why GOTY games exist
