I'm on firmware 3.30

I'm on firmware 3.30 how can I safely update to the required firmware to jailbreak my ps3? Any help is appreciated.

Easy! just search and find the offical Sony 3.41 update, most gaming torrent sites should have it... then throw that bad boy in your USB stick go to System Update and choose the "update from removable media" option. do not update thru the internet cuz it will take u to the newest firmware and jailbreak does not work on that one...

Edit: Search for a better link to download the firmware. This has been discussed multiple times in the forums for where to get it from. That link goes to Sony's servers. I wouldn't trust it.

Thanks for the warning, it seems like http://www.eurasia.nu/wiki/index.php/Ps3OsRels is a trusted site from what I've read, but there's few 3.41 firmwares on there, so should I get the full release one, or the second slient release?

I'm pretty sure both work fine. 3.42 is where the closing of the hole was.
