Illegal?

Probably not the first to ask this.

Im looking to a buy a jailbreak usb dongle for my PS3. I cant find any for sale in the UK via UK online retailers? Are they illegal to sell in the UK? If so why? I can't find any evidence online like with the R4 to say its officially been made illegal to sell or buy?

I think thats amazon.com USA. Maybe slightly different to UK, unless of course you were referring to UK?

Why use a dongle? Why not just CFW?

The development boards used to create a jailbreak dongle aren't illegal, you will just have to program it yourself once it arrives.

Not hard to do by any means

in germany many people have received an adhortatory letter instead of a dongle + 5000€ as punishment because it bypasses the copyprotection.
if you didnt sign the declaration to cease and desist or break the copy-protection-whatever again or even try to do it you had to pay 50000€

better just download a CFW and your good to go
