Idea, But Not Sure, Help! lol
Idea, But Not Sure, Help! lol –

As stated in the thread I made when I originally signed up here, I recently bought a new PS3 Slim and I want to jailbreak it. Obviously, since it can't be downgraded to 3.55 and there's no jailbreak for 4.00 yet, it can't be done as it stands currently, but... I had an idea, and I'm wondering if it would work.
Since the firmware is installed on the hard drive, would it be possible to swap out the hdd with one that had 3.55 on it and then jailbreak? Or, alternately, swap in a formatted hdd and install 3.55 on it and jailbreak it? I'm sure it should let you have any firmware you want if it's a newly installed hdd, since you have to install the firmware yourself from that point. It's just a theory, and I thought I'd ask before I try to find out how to set up a new hdd in my PS3 lol.
If anybody can let me know if that's a viable idea and something I should try, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anybody has a link to a 100% correct way to install a new hdd and get it up and running, that would be appreciated as well. I'll be searching for it as soon as I post this thread regardless, but you can never be too sure about the information on the internet.
Thanks!

Hmm... crap! lol. Alright, thanks for the info! Even though it's disappointing info, at least I know now.
