I have an old 40gb psfat, that ive jailbroken and put a new 320gb internal on it. So of course, im running the 3.41 fw.

Heres my dilemma, I am a HUGE dead space fan, and am an avid xbox 360 live player, yeah I know... So not being able to connect to PSN hasnt really bothered me up until this point. Where in my inbox the other day I received a nice DS2 MP Beta invite. Of course, I really want to play it, but cant justify spending $300 just for a beta.

So Im thinking about just doing the update process, as Ive had my ps3 jailbroken and played maybe 10 minutes worth of backed up games. Basically Im just looking for someone to substantiate how awesome the ps3 being jailbroken is and talk me out of it.

Ive been checking craigslist for ps3's that have broken bd-drives and stuff, no luck.

I guess my thing is that I come from the 360 modding side of things, and its just a lot more impressive and permanent over there, which is understandable, its been what a month since the ps3 was hacked? so I guess im hoping that maybe if I update now, by the time I actually want to play a ps3 game, there will be CFW out.

Your absolutely right, which is the only thing holding me back. How long has it been and they still havent been able to jtag the 8955+ dashboard on the 360?

Could be the same scenario over here.

Havent and more than likely wont,i really hope they do as id have tons to jtag but i cant ever see it happening.
if i where you id sit tight. im holding onto 12 360's with low 8*** dashes in the hope but im gonna have to sell em soon as that gravy train has long gone
(i still have 4 jtag's to play with though )

Its gonna start getting tuff to find 3.41 ps3 machines.
Just like jtag x360...only ones available are the rrod machines that need a rebuild.
Be happy you have a 3.41 ps3.
Updating would be beyond stupid IMHO.

thats not an issue for me i have 2 reflow machines and a reball stand too
so im more than happy to have ex rrod's
