I quick idea to throw around!! –
I'm pretty new to the post on here. Just had a thought. Sony went from 3.73 OFW to 4.0..... Totally skipping .74 ,.75, Ect...... I know from updating via a flash drive (3.55 CFW and Offical firmwares) that the ps3 looks for a firmware above what you have or higher on the flash drive. Is there anyway to maybe edit the 3.55 CFW firmware PUP file to look as if it was 3.74 or 5 thats not really there? That way when updating from 3.73 the firmware is a later version? Just a thought. Although some new games still won't run it might be a way to downgrade your firmware without the use of the Eflasher. Like I said, I don't know enough to do this. Was hoping to put the idea out there for some of these great minds on the scene. Thanks
Interesting idea. I don't know how practical that would be because the ps3 does more than one check on the firmare update. I'm sure it checks the version, the date of the firmware, the keys inside, etc, etc. Also, I'm sure it checks to see if the update has been modified by a hex editor. I wouldn't try it on your own. You could end up bricking your console
Nope you can't do that. If you could, it would have been accomplished along time ago
LOL, yeah I was sure if I had thought about someone else had.
