I need some help with the FTP app –
i setup my ps3 with a static ip, installed the ftp app, and install filezilla on my pc but when i try to connect it stops on LIST and then fails to connect and says cant retrieve directory listing. anyone know how i can fix this?
happened to me a couple of times too. Just keep trying it will work eventualy.
Try connecting the ethernet cable directly to the PC.
That's what I did and it worked and probably gives you more speed and less errors (which crash the PS3, because the FTP server is buggy).
just tried it with the cable directly connected and same thing. i have been tried for about 1 hour and i cant seem to get it to work
maybe theres the off shoot chance that the ftp app code u installed got garbled. i would try perhaps dl and installing it again.
you said you put static ip in ps3 settings.. you realize that the ip, no matter what it is, is stated right beside the start ftp server option when you launch the app.
i have tried reinstalling the app with a new file downloaded from somewhere else, and when i had my ps3 set on uato for the internet and then loaded the app, for the server address i was getting xternal/libsre.sprx
this is the message i get when i try to connect

your client is somehow changing the listening ip on the fly. dunno how to go about configuring that.
try w flashfxp client instead.
