I need help. stuck on 3.30 recovery menu

i hope someone can help me on this.

ive got a 60GB CECHC04 and its on 3.30 so i tried installing 3.55 (update failed between 60-70%)

and now it will not boot at all (i did a PS3 SYSTEM RESTORE) and it booted up fine on 3.30 again, so i tried 3.55 again (MD5: CA595AD9F3AF8F1491D9C9B6921A8C61) from USB and it failed again.

now i can only get into the recovery menu. and i cannot do anything from there now (PS3 SYSTEM RESTORE just turns the ps3 off!! to solid red light, No beeps)

ive been reading for the last week or so and carnt find a solution (ive formatted the hard drive sevral times and zero filled it) and also tried 2 other hard drives

when i press SYSTEM UPDATE (recovery menu ofcourse) it just says checking for about 20mins then give me an error. ive also tried 3 diffrent USB stick with diffrent firmware (3.41, 3.55, 3.56) The error it gives me is: 8002F281

trying going back to a even older firmware i believe its 2. sumin ive read of others having the same similar issue , soo try putting a older firmware and when it completes , carry on and update to the FW you want

ok how do i get the older firmware to install?

and ive not tried any downgrade yet. so ive not tried 3.15 which is still lower than 3.30

Sounds like BD drive is broken.Read THIS (BluRay Drive bypass 3.55 CFW) or THIS (bluray-drive-bypass firmwares and some unbrick explanations)

i dont have nothing come up on the screen. and it turs off after 15 secs solid red light. no beeps.

but it will still enter recovery menu.

and when i try to update it does not find anything, it jut says checking for about 20mins.

so downgrading is my last option?
to 3.15? ime 3.30

I had too same problem with my PS3 60GB few days ago.I fix everything with this thread http://psx-scene.com/forums/683659-post142.html (UN-BRICK'ing your PS3 system!)

where do i get a modifed 3.15?

as i carnt update in service mode

There is no modified 3.15 (that I'm aware of). You can only jb with a dongle on that FW.

You might be stuck in service mode if you have a hardware issue with your ps3.

Is your BD drive OK?

If you're confident you have no hardware issue you might be OK downgrading.

Downgrading is risky.

Try everything else first.

You've tried 3 usb sticks. Try more.

Might be a RAM issue. Try unplugging your console and leaving it for an hour or so first before trying upgrade.

Did you have the usb stick in the correct usb socket? On a slim it's the one closest to the drive - not sure on a fat.

Did you have no other media on the usb stick when you tried to upgrade? Should only have OFW on it.

the only thing i could find wrong with it was the ribbon that connected to the MOBO the lil clip was broke so i had to tape it down.

also its a fat 1 60GB with 4 usb slots. i tried it on the far right one.

ive also left it off all night with the battery inside it taken out
