Think of it like this. The PS3 is a games machine first.
Sony make money from selling games, not movies (that everyone makes)
There is no "Blockbuster BluRay ONLY PS3"
The original Kiosk units (the full display, not just the PS3) had 2 PS3's
1 sat up top and looked pretty under inside a perspex box, the real one, the one doing all the work was hidden underneath.
At a guess, since your photos are not showing up, they "aquired" some retired Kiosk display units (the box, screen etc but not the consoles) and put Blockbuster on them.
For the final time, Sony make ALL their money from PS3's on games, controllers & other licensed crap, not BluRays.
is that what I most likely got then?
well either way the seller claims it was never locked down. he said it was originally an 80GB so could he meant when he said kiosk he just meant it was a demo console for blu rays and not actually a kiosk console?
Yep, they just threw a console into the kiosk unit and played blurays on it. It would not have been a kiosk console though.
It has a very easy to spot sticker under it that clearly states it is a demo unit if it was infact a kiosk console.
What is driving me nuts though is why you still have this obsession with the kiosk side of things when it is on Kmeaw.
Even if it was a kiosk unit, it isn't now.
The only firmware you could put onto a kiosk Ps3 is Kiosk firmware. It would not accept a normal firmware period.
That is until it is no longer a Kiosk console, then you can install Kmeaw or whatever you like (as you have already)
so what your saying is even if I wanted to re install kiosk(which would be dumb anyway just wondering) I would not be able to?
What I am saying is:
Build a bridge, and get over it. =)
Over the fact you DO NOT have a Kiosk PS3, you have what we call a PS3, about 50 million of them are in the wild already.
