First of all - I am an idiot.

I was on 3.41 OFW. I tried to inntall Geohot's 3.55 CFW through the XMB without updating to 3.55 OFW. After 100% I got a few bleeps and the console switched off. When I restarted I was still on 3.41.

When trying to install 3.55OFW, Evilnat 3.41 CFW or 3.55 OFW I was getting the Data corrupted 8002F2C5 error in both recovery mode and the XMB.

I was able to install Evilnat 3.55 CFW but I receive an 80029564 error when trying to install any packages (including newly signed 3.55, such as Snes9x). When trying to run previously installed packages I receive the error 80029519.

I still get the Data corrupted error when trying to install OFW 3.55. Geohot fails to install with the same bleep problem. I can install Evilnat 3.55 CFW again and again, but I have the same issues above.

Any help would be much appreciated, although I presume I'll just have to wait until a proper fix comes out.

I have managed to **** up my PS3 twice in one day

Can't you just install 3.41 OFW again, then start again or is that too simple?

Also how about recovery mode (Hold down power button - will beep then turn off PS3. Then Hold power button again - Will beep once then beep twice and let go of power button)

You maybe able to restore your PS3 system or use the upgrade option on that.

    K. I tried restore mode. And it didn't work. It gave me the same error. And I tried service mode restore to 3.55 but it gives me a semi-brick when I do that and I have to go into service again and downgrade back to 3.41. But the weirdest part is. Is that when I was in recovery mode, it asked me to upgrade to *****. Maybe this is the problem? Can I spoof a 3.55 PUP to look like. *****. I know that there is no such update as ***** but that's what my PS3 says.

Try formatting your PS3's HDD or restoring default settings.
