I can't update!?

Hi guys I just got my ps3 from best buy from repairing it because I had the YLOD
Now I got my slim back and they gave me the 160 gb ps3 slim so I went to system settings and I found out its on 3.41 ( hehe Maybe Best buy is on our side ) So i thought great I could just upgrade to 3.55 no worrys
But when i went to system update by storage It says no applicable update was available :\
Now I'm stuck here with 3.41 OFW Wondering how do I update I tried through recovery too Doesn't work :|

You've obviously been smoking too much weed, cause my bet is your folder stucture/update filename is wrong.

Usb stick formatted correctly? FAT32?

Correct directory structure? /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

Still the same?

Did you check the pup's hash to make sure it isn't corrupt?

Apperently Memorex 1gb usb's don't work :\
I tried My kingston 2gb which I found Under my bed.
It worked and now I'm succesfully updating
Sorry :$ I had everything right just not the usb

must be the file system then...

May i suggest you wait 'till you get down a little before installing a CFW?

Just make sure you check MD5 before installing kmeaw's of any other CFW and you should be good to go

ohhh and my take with the whole usb thingy not working is

probably your memorex 1gb is on NTFS format

while your kingston 2gb is on fat32...


just a speculation on why it worked on the other
