How to transfer large video files to ps3
How to transfer large video files to ps3 –

Hello,
I want to transfer some videos which are 7GB+ to my ps3's hdd. I don't have an external hdd or flash drive big enough to store them. I only have a 4gb flash.
Is it possible to transfer via ftp? I tired but my files don't show up under videos menu. I noticed that when you transfer from flash, the video on the ps3's internal hdd appears as 3 separate files. Are there any solutions?
Also I wanted to ask if there are any apps for ps3 that play more file types (.mkv for example). I use 3.41 FW.

Install PS3MediaServer on your PC.
Configure your router to run UPNP.
Run PS3MediaServer on your PC.
Go to your PS3 XMB navigate to video and click on the new server, if it is not there choose "Scan for server"
Go to the video you want
Press Triangle
Choose "Copy"
If it is an MKV PS3MediaServer will transcode it to your PS3.
Alternatively if you network is up to it you could just press X on it and it would stream the UPNP steam to your PS3 from the PC and output on your TV.

i use tversity and transfer from pc to ps3 over my lan as for mkv there isnt a player that im aware of to play on ps3, you have to convert them to a mp4 or let tversity transcode them. i use gotsent to convert mkv to play on ps3 or xbox360

I don't have a router. I tried connecting an ethernet cable directly from pc to ps3, but both ps3 media server and tversity didn't work. I don't know what settings to use. I use these settings for ftp:
pc ip: 192.168.6.1
ps3 ip: 192.168.6.2
but those don't work here.
If it cant be done, I'll try the other option.
