How to shut off "Game-Updates"??
How to shut off "Game-Updates"?? –
I'm curious about how to turn off game-updates, but still be able to access internet through multiMAN and other homebrew.
My PS3 has never been on PSN and I don't have an account, but many do, and if they use their PS3 like me, it would be very neat to have a complete Sony "turn off button", so we all could use OUR PS3, like we wan't to without being scared of de-cracking our games and if some jerk "accidentally" updates to a newer firmware.
Should this be patched to a CFW, or is it enough with a pkg, or simply enable custom ip-setting in homebrew?
Most if not all games can be updated just fine. If you really wanted to though I'm sure you could add a few lines to your router config or setup a proxy server for your PS3 to redirect all attempts to talk to Sony.
Most of my games are pkg games. Tried with Heavy Rain and it screwed up after I updated :-/
Do u know how I can keep Sony out of my machine?
Deep deep respect for your work mann!
Hmmm, there's really no reason to use the old pkg method anymore. Kmeaw (or my FW) + the newest MultiMan (with built in syscall) has 0 stability issues. I'd suggest getting unmodified eboots of the games you've installed pkgs for off the original discs and just using multiman.
If you absolutely have to use the package versions then you need to edit your param.sfo file with a hex editor and look for the version info. Change the version info to the current latest patch version and it shouldn't bother you for a update.
Edit: I do agree though that it'd just be easier using kmeau's latest fw with the latest backup managers since updates work fine.
It is Impossible that the usb loader asks for an update
1)WBFS manager and usb loader delete the update
2)All loaders block updates
