I've ps3break and I'd like to know a thing. I know that is possibile to backup a game to the hdd by using backup manager and the original BD inserted in the PS3.
But, if I have a zipped game (if I unzip there are all the game files), how I can use it? I should unzip and put it in the external hard drive in a specified directory?
If yes then I boot up ps3 with ps3break and then go to backp manager?
If not how I can use the zipped game?

    Thanks!

bordering on the piracy there but i am assuming you have the original game. A zipped fille just needs extracting to your external hdd.

Sure it's a my original game. So I can unzip the game files in a directory that have the name which I prefer?! Then I start the game by using the default backup manager of ps3break, right? Thanks

sorry but this does sound a little like piracy related questions.... but why dont you just back up your origianal game to a usb external hdd anyway and it will put it in the GAMEZ folder so u can play it

the reason i think this might be piracy is because its zipped as when u back up your own game its not zipped its just there already to go and if u zipped it yourself you would already know the answer to this question so you are either doing piracy which is bad or just a very slow person that wants to waste time and post pointless things here

i hope that made sense but in short piracy bad, wasting time bad

You people are way too paranoid over this "piracy" thing!

It's like you guys have never dowloaded something from the net without paying for it!!!

Anyways, I just think that its a good idea to zip a game once you've backed it up using BM.It helps to save space on the external drive.

I think that's one of the reason why the original thread started wanted to know for.

You guys always assume it's something "baaaaaad"!!!

Rather than saying I backed my game up using the original, he simply states he knows it's possible. Hmmmm...

Presuming he retrieved the files from backup manager after a successful rip and zipped it, he'd know where to put them back without asking.

    Yeah, that's not piracy...

    Your witness.

I usually bite my tongue when it comes to topics like this, Yeah we've all done it at some point. But it's got nothing to do with being paranoid, it's about honoring the staffs request not to talk about these things on here.

Look, anyone on here that claims piracy is bad is kidding themselves. Everyone in the world is guilty of it. If you have ever recorded anything from TV or the radio, then you have pirated copy protected material. But let's get to the real point. We are all using an item (PSjailbreak, DIY board, PSFreedom/PSGroove) to circumvent copy protection in order to "Back up" our games on our PS3s. Regardless if you own a game or not, copy protection is exactly that "Copy" protection. Owning the disc does not give you the legal rights to copy said disc in any way shape or form. Anyone that thinks otherwise is a fool.

Oh, this argument again. It doesn't matter what you think of piracy, what matter is you can't do it on this site.

Although it is a lot more lax here since the jailbreak... er... broke. I remember seeing the mods making people take pictures of their original discs before they would be given help on hdloader.

Guess it would be like trying to sweep back the tide acting that way just now though.

Not to mention the ad revenue... cough cough!
