How to re-install 3.55kmeaw

I have my friend who is pretty un-sure as to what the vendor did.
Games dont run properly he says...He wants to do a complete reintallation of cfw.. I am thinking to go for a kmeaw reinstall...Not sure if vendor has applied wtz\kmeaw\geohot...How to find out and how to reinstall the cfw...sHUD I INSTALL OFW 3.,55 from reocvery?

This question has been asked multiple times with the same answer. Unless the ps3 is under 3.56, it's pointless. If it's under 3.56 reflash 3.55 OFW from the recovery menu. Then flash 3.55 kmeaw from the recovery menu.
I can't post a link cause I'm doin this from my phone, and I wanna get this question answered.

3.56&3.60 is out of luck. every body says to do OFW, I did the first time never have used OFW before reflashing since still get same results without the extra step

You're correct on the part about it being downgradable, but you can't get out of factory/service mode though. And we say to reflash OFW as a precaution.
