How to play games off External, not working
How to play games off External, not working –

Hey guys,
Noob questions, I have to games on my computer, weird names like BES17823 or whatever, anyways, I have an External 1TB drive, completely blank and FAT32. I chuck them games on the external, directly on to it, so now you can see these 2 game folders. Plug it in my ps3, run open manager 1.16 I have Hermes v3 on, I can't even look at the contents of the External Drive.... I can see the contents (the game) on my internal, but I cant even move to the External drive to see if the games loaded, the box shows up though.
any thoughts ?

Make a GAMEZ folder and put them in there.

can anyone confirm that the folder structure should be as follows
G:\GAMEZ\BES17823\
can the "BES17823" name be changed to GOD of WAR and will it still work?
Thanks

The games need to be in the folder said before, you can rename them if you want, it won't affect Open backup manager from detecting. I believe you also have to put some additional folders in the root of the HDD: MUSIC, VIDEO, PS3 and PICTURES. These have to be in the HDD root for the console to detect the external HDD

You don't need to make them, the hdd will still be detected (or if it isn't, that's not the reason why). If you copy media from the XMB to the external, the relevant folder will be created automatically.
