Hi Guys,
I am currently on Hermes CFW 3.41. I want to know how can I play games requiring 3.41+ firmware? What is the best way of going about it?

Hi Guys,
I am currently on Hermes CFW 3.41. I want to know how can I play games requiring 3.41+ firmware? What is the best way of going about it?
Upgrading to 3.55 CFW is the easiest way. If not you have to track down modded eboot files but not all games work so you will not have as high of compatibility as 3.55 users. Can I ask why you are on 3.41 when even Hermes abandoned the 3.41 project himself this week.
Right now I am using the Hermes 3.41cfw. I think the main reason why I haven't switch over is because I don't want to mess up. That happens alot. "if it isn't broken, don't fix it". So far I got all my games working. Some with original and some with modified eboots. Until a new game requires it, I will still with modified eboots and 3.41 cfw.
3.41 FTW. I'm also against upgrading while all my games work. I even have the newest ones working like MLB The Show 11 and Fight Night Champion.
Also I'd kill myself if I lose the ability to watch bluray movies and it seems that happened to a lot of people.
The best way to play a game requiring +3.50 on 3.41 is to read the thread of the game. There'll be dozens of posts about playing it on 3.41. There's still a lot of people like me that don't want to upgrade.
Uhh, you only lose bluray playback when you downgrade. Get your facts straight.
I also am on Hermes 3.41 and will probably not go anywhere from that. Theirs upsides and downsides to both. Everyones got their reasons for either. I just prefer the better discless support just in case my blue ray ever dies.
But yea back on topic, most games I find don't need to be tinkered with since 3.41 is still relatively new. Like the other guy said you just may need to find a few modded eboots for newer games or look for a PKG to use. If you need to edit the Param.sfo's, I would just let Multiman do it.
Basically even 3.55 users are now in the same boat for anything new that comes out since most of the new games will now require 3.60. The only advantage I see with 3.55 that you will be able to get a few of the newer games updated ok like GT5.
I am on 3.41 CFW because at the time I installed it, all my games worked. But now newer games are not working.
Hmm, so I have two options:
1. Upgrade to 3.55 CFW
2. Search for modified eboot files for newer games
Is that correct?
P.S: Which version of multiman should I use on 3.41 CFW?
Yes, it is all correct. Except, save you old eboots. If you ever go to 3.55, you will need them for your games to work correctly.
The newest version of multiman, probably.
multiMAN - multifunctional tool for your PS3 (Game manager/File manager/FTP/AVCHD/BDMV)

Even with 3.55 you will need modded eboots for the latest games as they require 3.56 to run. This will work till 3.60 games roll out and all the loaders are gone except lv0 (which we can't access without a new "hack") so all games will stop working very soon so get them while you can. I made Tomb Raider my last pre-order till a new bypass method comes along.
