how to jailbreak a PS3? latest firm ware

There is no jailbreak for any firmware above 3.55. You need a hardware flasher to downgrade your firmware to 3.55, then jailbreak it. Also, the PS3 needs to have shipped with 3.55 or lower firmware, otherwise you can't downgrade.
You don't have to worry about getting banned because you can't get on PSN with a jail broken PS3 anyway.

You are probably getting way over your head on this. Its probably in your best interest to get a hold of a PS3 below 3.55 OFW or an already JB PS3. Im not to sure on how to do it with OFW 4.11+ but I know enough that anything above 3.56 its not something you can watch a youtube video for, and just skip those surveys your just wasting you time with fakes most likely.
If you are serious about getting into the JB scene its always in your best interest to not do it with your only PS3 so I would suggest using that one as your legit and buying an older one to JB you are going to save yourself a lot of heartache, time, and dollars if you do it this way.

Lionheartwolf speaks the truth. Downgrading is not an easy thing to do. It requires opening your PS3 and soldering. If you can find a used PS3 at 3.55 or below, then jail breaking it is very easy. Look on EBay.

Well if you just bought the thing its a roll of the dice really, and with every day that passes the odds are less in your favor that you'll find one. to check just go to Settings-> System Settings -> System information and it will tell you what firmware you are on. If you had it for awhile and have been using it to play anything that would be considered new in the last 14 some odd months you are out of luck.
What I did, and im not to sure if you'll have the same luck since I did it over a year ago when 3.60 was still pretty new was I searched gamestop for an old used 60GB launch Phat PS3 then I called and asked how long they had it sitting around, and the first place that said its been sitting there for awhile I bought it.
Typically the launch PS3s are a little more expensive than their other Phat counterparts and for that reason they tend to sit longer because people really dont care about that as much anymore and your more likely to find older OFW on there. worst case scenario you bought it from a retailer and shouldnt have a problem returning it so at the very least its a much safer transaction than rolling the dice on ebay. Just make sure you buy it used. Refurbished PS3s are updated with current or close to current firmware.
Like I said though that was a year ago and I just needed one that sat there for a month or so, you would need to find some gamestop that had a PS3 collecting dust for over a year and im not sure you are going to have as much luck.

Not to sound mean or anything but tell your friend what we already told you because its sounds like you both lack the experience to even think about trying to downgrade a current OFW PS3, and if you already know the process to put 3.55 CFW on a PS3 you would just do it instead of asking. You especially wouldnt need to ask how to check your current firmware because even the smallest amount of research and that should be more than second nature to you. Its really in your best interest to either find somebody who is a little more comfortable doing it than you are or buying another system that already has it installed.
I know I shouldnt jump to conclusions here but if I had to take a guess here it sounds like you got caught up in watching one to many youtube videos of people pirating, or modding newer PS3 games from this last breakthrough in the JB scene and you didnt realize you were too late to the party. Im not going to tell you that you should or shouldnt be a part of the community, but seriously for your own good listen to what we are saying. They are trying to save you loads of pain and money from all the mistakes your going to make here.
