So I gather, with kmeaw's 3.55, I need to "patch and eboot" my games? What does that mean, exactly, and how do I do it? Im such a noob lol, Im sorry.

Truthfully....I havn't tried the eboot or patch's mate i'v never needed too but i'm sure what amp said is true lol
To use new games YES you need to patch them but "HOW TO DO IT" i have no idea like i said above but a quick search of this site & i'll be able to do it within minutes

Well, right now Im on my way to download MultiMAN 04.03.03, and then install it with the help of a tut I found.

I still have no idea how to implement patches or eboots on backup games that need patching!

mmCM ver 04.03.03 FULL (20120607) is the 1 i downloaded but theres all sorts of folders & files in there
and as i'v been out the scene for a long time i dont have a clue what to do with them (things are more complicated now)

The only thing I did was take the appropriate .pkg file, insert it in the root of my usb flash drive. Then I inserted it into my PS3, went to "install package files" folder and installed it.

So now I have it on my PS3! I have no idea what I do with it now lol, I need to read up on how to use it properly, how to patch games and use eboots, etc.


A question to the vets: The newest multiMAN that's out, I hear there's some talk of CEX to DEX conversion or something like that, I have absolutely no idea what that means but I am interested in the newest version of the program. Could you explain what it does, and why it is much better than my current version? Thanks in advance!

MultiMan 4.10 your on about there then m8,
and it all depends on which FW your currently on 3.41 and further !

Mines all done..just took a little while to get back into things as i was away for so long i forgot most stuff but i'm back to normal now haha

All you have to do now is put any game into your PS3 and open multiman,
Go to backup and click start which will be square if i remember right,
I havn't even opened Mman yet as my bluray drive is goosed/nackered Kaput lol

as for CEX & DEX here it is in 4.10.00

I see all the new features for the newest multiMAN, but what is CEX, REX and DEX? I have absolutely no idea haha, and I don't know whether Im on DEX mode, and which version of mM is the CEX version.

It seems like in order to use the new mM successfully, one needs to fully understand the terms CEX, REX and DEX, know which version of these you're on and then download and use mM.

Also, regarding the games Im planning on using them as backups on a external harddrive as my blu ray laser is broken. So I need to figure out how to implement eboots and patches into the different directories in order to play the games. I found a nice tut explaining it, so Ill get at it as soon as I can, but this really seems to be a pretty steep lerning curve for a noob, Ive never encountered a jailbreak/hack that is this convoluted!

Yes i agree mate it has seemed to got alot difficuilt than when i start J.B with dongles years ago,
Then i stopped the PS3 hacking & went into a different hacking scene which was alot easier but now i'm back with a 3.50 console

Total noob here, so I apologize in advance

I just picked up an 80gig fat that is running 3.41 and I have an E3 dongle that came with it and works well. With all the new developments, what would be my best course of action to go dongleless and not lose what I have already backed up on the HD. One important factor might be that I don't go online at all with my PS3s...not sure what that might change. Simple is better for me. I'd greatly appreciate any advice.

I also have a 60gig fat that I've rebuilt and use, running 4.11. With all the new things going on, should I be thinking about going CFW to be able to use saved backups as well? Can I even do it?

If i were you mate i'd install the latest CFW & the latest Multiman onto your 3.41 FAT PS3
Thats the easiest & best way !
