I have an amazebreak dongle 3.41 downgraded console that I did over a year ago, I am trying to unjailbreak it and go official, or goto the 3.55 jb method w/out the dongle but I cannot update my PS3 I keep getting a data is corrupted error 8002f157and currently have no idea what to do. Can anyone offer me some help?

Depending on the model, you might be able to downgrade the console to 3.55 and enjoy the benefits of CFW, QA Flag, CEX2DEX, etc. But not all slim consoles are downgrade-able.

is it true? there is still no custom firmware available now except 3.55? omg so how can we play games that ps3 needs to be updated to 4th version?

@someshmishra, you can PM once you have been a member for 10 days, and have made at least 10 posts. Until then, you will have to ask in the forums. Which is a better way anyways, and you can get more help and opinions to find the answers you are looking for.

@MSW, Well, some of us use a second console. Other use(d) the True Blue dongle. But currently, there is no need for the dongle; because almost all of the patches have been re-released dongle-free. There are also other free patches that have also been released. Users simply replace the new files with the old ones, and they are good to go.

@MSW, Only certain new games can be played. If they do not have a patch, then it most likely doesn't work. If it does have a patch, you simply download the patch... and then place the patched files where the original files go inside the game's folder. I am not exactly sure how detailed you want me to get, but that is basically it. Other fixes are just PKG that you install, and then can run your game after you install it.

@zbooroll, have you actually tested this, or are you just spreading "rumors"? As far as we know here at PSX-Scene, there is no "full" jailbreak above 3.55. Perhaps this one you are attempting to link to is not a fully functional JB, and instead only a partial solution which will not help anyone out. If you have not tested, then please do not post links, as the files could potentially harm our users.

I have finally dusted off my fat PS3 and decided it's time to get back to playing it. I am currently on version 3.14. I would like to take advantage of being able to back up the games I currently have and future games(I'm looking to purchase GT5 today). Your tutorial does not state that I must upgrade to 3.55 first before installing a CFW correct? If I should upgrade to 3.55 first before installing CFW kmeaw, could you link me to where I could DL it?
