how to jail break 4.00 firmwire

hello i new and i want to jailbreake my ps3 im on 4.00 firmwire and i want and the tool to install game on my harddrive and be safe playing them wen im online, i have a brand new ps3 320gb slim only 6 days old, and if i dont like it i want to know if the is anyway of getting back onto the official 4.00 firmwire. thanks message back asap

As of now you can not Jailbreak 4.00. If you would have done a simple search you could have avoided looking stupid. Also there is no way to play online when your PS3 is Jailbroken. Case closed.

i have done days of resourse and thank you that was all i wanted to know soo there was no need to be soo touchy about it all you was doin is sitting on your arse and pressing a couple of keys.

Don't mind the assholes. People forget that they started somewhere too. If you want to play backups on your ps3 you are out of luck for the time being unless you trade your console for one with 3.55 or lower firmware. You might want to look into the e3 flasher and see if your model is compatible to downgrade but it's only worth doing if your base firmware is 3.55 or lower. If your system is only a few days old, then it's probably not gonna work for you.

I think the problem here is that many don't have the experience on how to downgrade, because not that many had to. bahumatlord is right, there are ways to downgrade from 4.00, but what I've read it's a bit tricky--plus I've read that you can't downgrade lower than what the console original had when it was made.

I've never had to downgrade (thank God), but if I was you, I'd rather spend some time going to Pawn shops and see if they have a used PS3 with an older firmware. Before they sell you a unit, you could have them connect it to see if it works, and you should go straight to the System Settings and see what firmware it has. If it doesn't have it, you can then ask the pawn shop operator if they happen to have another one.

you and me both. Love the new avatar/sig by the way. Unrelated matter Jay-Jay I've been meaning to get a hold of you. Do you remember we were talking about how to sort PSN content alphabetically. I found a way that works extremely well and I'm not sure if it's known or not, but I wanted to get with you and maybe you could put together something that will patch everyone's console. I'm too far out of the game to do it myself because I don't want to be blamed for bricks and really don't care to do a tutorial. He cant downgrade or do anhything because he bought it recently, which has the metdlr revision 2 that blocks downgrades

the scene is being beat up on pretty badly since feb'11 not much prgress. go for a used one, these things are bulletproof dont worry about it breaking. then ur best bet if you want to play newer games is buy the true blue dongle. even then, they dont get games working right away, it takes time. the god ol days are gone. luckily there are a few people still getting psn games to work but thats about it.
ive said it before: go buy a360 slim mfr before 8/11 and rgh hack it. you wont care about the ps3 for quite awhile, trust me. im still on 341hermes.ive got a ton of games to play so im happy
