Sorry for the bump....just another thought and I wanted to avoid starting a new thread over this.
You think i was like accidentally "spoofed" into 3.60 due to that Pacman Championship PSN game? I know it was in 3.55 before I installed it through USB .pkg installing. It was the only .pkg file that worked under "Install Package Files" when my firmware was showing up as 3.60. So does this mean I shouldn't install PSN games that came out after 3.55? It's so confusing because people be downloading demos via USB .pkg all the time today. How can I avoid this from happening again? I always want 3.55....and don't want to try a spoof.
Also...I hear when you first jailbreak a PS3, I guess you have to format its USB ports to FAT 32 to play back-ups off your external. Would I need to reformat the USB ports, or should they be okay? My FAT Flash drive is working just fine, but idk about the external yet. I guess I can take one of my retail games, and rip it to my external to see.

You don't format an USB port...

Thanks. It did seem kinda weird...I read a tutorial someplace to do that in order to play games off an external.
I got it figured out though...got a downloaded back-up working

this is why u should learn how to do everything yourself, i feel bad for people that go out and buy jailbroken systems with everything done for them because u r guaranteed to screw it up
u dont need to mess with spoofers, they r pointless, just dont let dumbasses on your system!

I never installed a spoof on the PS3. It somehow "spoofed" mysteriously...only thing I did was install that Pacman PSN game. Yeah, I did watch tutorials on Youtube and did my research before I touched the PS3 (I had to rush to get it at such a great price...cheaper than most other PS3s I seen with CFW 3.55 or less and it just came with too many accessories and such)...and installing .pkg files seemed simple enough for a first thing to try out. It did take a steeper learning curve than all my other modded systems.
But it's fine now. I installed emulators and stuff on it now...playing 3.55 (or less) compatible back-ups off my external. I am guessing it was the Pacman game that made it "spoof" to 3.60. Everything is fine now though...got it back to 3.55.
Yeah, I know I am a noob...everyone was at one point. LOL.

Good to hear you are okay now. Did you end up installing a new CFW?
