How the heck did this update happen?
How the heck did this update happen? –
Hello, I just purchased a jailbroken PS3 Slim that had 3.55 on it.
I have a FAT 60 GB PS3 with firmware 3.66 (or whatever the latest is), so there was no reason for me to connect this Slim to my internet. It was only going to be used for games and homebrew only. The Sims's MAC address would had had to had been entered in my router anyways for internet access.
I haven't even played a retail game on this PS3, or gotten a prompt for an update.
Anyways, it showed up as 3.60 today for unknown reasons. No one has been on it...there is no one in the house but me. The only thing I could think of was that I downloaded Pacman Championship and used the "Install Package Files" to install it. It was the first and only thing I ever did to the PS3. I tried installing other packages after it, but they failed. Pacman never updated or anything before starting the game.
The only other thing I did was play a PS1 game that was already on it when I first got the jailbroken PS3.
It doesn't look like a 3.60 system due to the online storage option not being there. It is only for PS+ subscribers. My FAT PS3 has the online storage option showing up...so I think it still shows up on your PS3 even if you are not a PS+ subscriber...you just can't use it.
Multiman is now freezing when I select a game to boot from the internal. It copies and reads games just fine. It used to work after I realized it was in 3.60, and the game asked me if I wanted to change something...like it required 3.50 and do I want to change something to that...and I said "no", because I didn't understand what it was. I thought it wouldn't change anything. I uninstalled Pacman and installed it again to see if it was a 3.60 update problem that was causing me not to be able to install .pkg files but I could reinstall it. "Fix System Permissions" only gives me a black screen and it returns to the XMB.
I just don't really understand why is it in 3.60 then. I know there isn't really nothing I can do, but I just am confused how did this happen. I just shelled out for this mess, and did only one thing to it.
I think I might have an swner to your problem.
First, delete multiMAN via the XMB, and then re-install it. See if that helps.
Second, only if the first thing does not work, go here ( http://rebug.me/?p=852 ), and use it to un-install the spoof.
So, you think it may be in a 3.60 Spoof then, instead of some mysterious update?
I'll try your second option first, since I am scared that if I uninstall Multiman, I probably wouldn't be able to re-install it with my "install package files" acting so stupid.
Sounds good. If you need the 3.66 spoofer does not let you unspoof it to 3.55, let me know, and I will upload the 3.60 spoofer if I still have it
EDIT: Once you have your system to 3.55, you might want to consider choosing your CFW, instead of just having the one that was givin to you.
So I can still use this 3.66 spoofer on this 3.60 to downgrade it?
You can try
Stop staring at my breasts I'm married and I'm not flattered it makes me uncomfortable you creep.
Sigh...it's not even installing the .pkg file. I doubt this may be a spoof now. I guess I may be out of luck on this. I am testing games off an external soon to see if they would load. I just find it weird how it updated. I'm so hot, I may sell the thing.
Afaik if you install another FW the spoof should be gone (?)
Try to install 3.55 OFW and then 3.55 kmeaw via Service Mode. maybe somnething's wrong with your current CFW because if you would have 3.60 you couldn't even see Install package files or Multiman in XMB
Gosh...I was so relieved when it said that I needed a firmware from 3.55 or above! So it wasn't an official 3.60 luckily!
I wasn't afraid of losing the spoof.
But anyways...THANKS! Now...just time to install the CFW on my own...gulp. It still has all the saved games and all the stuff it had on there before, like Multiman and such.
