If you're on a 3.55 CFW, all you have to do is download the 3.55 OFW and put it on your USB thumbdrive in x:\PS3\UPDATE and then boot into recovery mode and install.

Did you install Waninkoko CFW on a Phat PS3 console?

If that's the case, you are out of luck. You cannot get to recovery mode. Waninkoko's CFW "hard bricks" PS3 consoles that used the 256mb NAND for flash, rather than the later models that used the 16mb NOR flash. It trashes lv2 (which is needed for recovery mode) and some people have said it even trashes metldr, which contains unique information to your console - without which, you can NEVER recover, even by usiung a hardware flasher.

The lesson here is: BE PATIENT (I've said this dozens of times in the past few weeks) and don't flash firmwares the moment they are available to you - even from respected developers.
Working hard on UberCFW, incorporating NTFS, sub-free NetFlix and Blockbuster, PSN cheat system with built-in swearbot and MAC-spoofing, Adding MKV, RAM and BIK movie support, and Xbox360 emu*.

*not really. Get a life, newbs...
